THE WINSTON CHURCHILL MEMORIAL TRUST

A Churchill Fellowship provides an opportunity for talented Australian Citizens to travel overseas to investigate inspiring practices that will benefit Australian communities. After their travels and discoveries the Fellows put together intensive detailed reports with their findings, which I turn into highly designed, visual, engaging literature.

With diverse topics from Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, to the sensitivity of Children at Risk in Secure Care, and Preventing Sexual Violence Though Youth Education, it is always an honour to put visuals to the words and work of such inspiring individuals.

Report: To investigate the best new global models of visitor accessibility and experience at heritage sites in the UK, Denmark, USA and Canada.

“Jane Jones is an inspired and intelligent designer. She has an exceptional talent for lifting written content and images to create compelling, legible and beautiful documents. I commissioned her to do the design of my 130 page Churchill Fellowship report. She took a disparate collection of mini essays, images, information tables and case studies and created something that really connected with both expert and general audiences.

So many people have asked me who designed it and how I managed to do it? The answer is that Jane brought her magic and expertise to it. She brought the real narrative to the document through her terrific design. As a result, the report almost two years on, is still being shared and used”.

Report: To research new, practical and effective methods to prevent sexual violence through youth education.

Jane is an insightful and creative designer – she understood what I wanted before I knew it myself! She had vision too, coming up with a design theme I would never have imagined. She brought my words to life and captured the spirit of what I was trying to communicate, elevating it tenfold. She is able to strike a balance between different needs – for my work, it was the balance between engaging and serious. Jane was also easy to work with and an absolute delight, happy to make edits and talk through design choices in a way that made it easier for me to decide as a client. She has a really close attention to detail, and never missed an edit I requested no matter how minor.

In short – she was able to make me think outside the box and she has undoubtedly made my work ten times more accessible. It now speaks volumes rather than just a whisper.

Report: Creating a Secure Foundation for Children at Risk – examining care frameworks, stay duration and transition planning for children requiring secure care.

I’ve just received the document and it looks incredible!!! Oh my gosh I’m so excited! Loving the layout, text, use of photos etc. The way you’ve broken it down into the different section styles really helps the flow of the report. I’m so happy with the report – there are no words. It’s been so great working with you. You’re amazing thank you! Can’t wait to submit this – you’ve been awesome! Honestly I am so grateful – the report looks amazing and I feel excited to share it with others now that it looks so professional.

Report: Reducing implicit bias errors in police decision making, particularly in time-sensitive incidents.

Jane was an absolute pleasure to work with. She truly cared about the messaging in my report and this showed in how she creatively represented my ideas. Jane worked quickly and flexibly, and required minimum direction to achieve the results I was looking for. I was blown away by the infographics and visual representations of my ideas that Jane created. These components are crucial for my time-poor audience – they enable my ideas to be distilled into easy to digest and quick to read snapshots.

I cried tears of joy when I saw the finished report! What Jane created for me was better than anything I could ever have imagined. I am so proud to share my finished report with my professional network.
